In this virtual seminar, Denise Pliskin, Sr. Director of Product Strategy for Speck Design, goes through a phase based approach to product design and development - from ideation and research, concept design and refinements, to the steps to commercializing a product. Denise talks lightly about other none-design issues for entrepreneurs to consider. To illustrate the phases she uses a case study of a newly released products to illustrate what happens in each phase.
Denise calls upon her experience as a mechanical designer and project manager to develop product development strategies for Speck Design’s key clients.
Her background enables her to understand the real, everyday issues that companies face, including manufacturing issues, complex technical challenges, aggressive schedules and cost targets. Over her tenure at Speck she has been the design strategy lead for name brand clients such as Google, Facebook, and Apple as well as exciting new start-ups. In addition to shepherding new products to market, she has helped to build design departments both internal and external, helping with staffing, process, and cultural design.
