User Research
Diving into comprehensive user research, our team focused on garnering insights from surgeons and medical professionals. We analyzed how the da Vinci system was used in actual surgical environments, identifying areas for ergonomic improvements and functionality enhancement. This research was fundamental in guiding our subsequent design and engineering efforts, ensuring that the updated system would not only meet but exceed the rigorous demands of the medical field.
Electrical Engineering
Our electrical engineering team worked closely with Intuitive Surgical to refine the electrical systems of the da Vinci device. This involved enhancing sensor accuracy, improving control systems for better precision, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and reliability. The result was a more intuitive and responsive surgical tool, designed for optimal performance in complex procedures.
Mechanical Engineering
The mechanical engineering phase involved re-engineering various components of the da Vinci system. Our goal was to make the device more versatile and adaptable to different surgical procedures. We worked on improving the mechanical aspects such as joint fluidity, stability, and overall structural integrity, resulting in a more robust and reliable surgical tool.
Industrial Design
Our industrial design team aimed to merge aesthetic appeal with functional excellence. We redesigned the da Vinci system with a focus on surgeon comfort and ease of use, enhancing the overall user interface and physical ergonomics. The redesign not only made the device more user-friendly but also helped to reduce surgeon fatigue during prolonged procedures.
