We were driven by a vision to make Google Fiber not just a service but a part of the home environment. This involved designing each component, from the Network Box to the Remote Control, to resonate with Google Fiber's values of speed, simplicity, and user-friendliness. The challenge was to distill these complex concepts into a tangible design language that spoke directly to users. Through iterative design processes, we sculpted forms and interfaces that were not just visually appealing but also intuitive. The final design harmonized all elements, creating a product range that was emblematic of Google Fiber's innovative spirit and commitment to user-centric design.
The cornerstone of our design process was a comprehensive understanding of user interactions with their home internet and TV setups. We conducted extensive studies to gather both qualitative and quantitative insights. This research was pivotal in shaping our design decisions, ensuring that every aspect of the Google Fiber product family was tailored to user needs. Our findings informed the development of a Universal Design Language (UDL) that unified the look, feel, and interaction across the product range, ensuring a cohesive user experience from the moment they engaged with any Google Fiber product.
Our brand design strategy was a meticulous exploration of branding elements, color schemes, and materials that would embody Google Fiber's core values. The aim was to elevate the brand's presence in the competitive market. Our work went beyond aesthetics; it was about creating an emotional connection with users.
