This collaboration underscores our commitment to enhancing user experiences through thoughtful design, delivering a product that seamlessly integrates into the consumer market across the U.S.
Our user research team dove deep into the lives of individuals with diabetes, uncovering their desires for a testing solution that is not only efficient but also discreet and simple to use. Through extensive interviews and ergonomic studies, we identified key aspects that would make the POGO Automatic® stand out as a consumer-friendly product, rather than just another medical device. This foundational understanding influenced every design decision, ensuring that the final product would meet and exceed user expectations in terms of aesthetics, functionality, and usability.
The industrial design challenge was to encapsulate medical precision within a form that users would feel comfortable using in any setting. Our design team employed innovative brainstorming and rapid prototyping techniques to refine the POGO Automatic®'s form, focusing on creating a compact, ergonomic product that users could easily carry and use discreetly. The design's stand-up storage feature and the intuitive location and operation of the test button were critical in differentiating it from conventional diabetes testing devices, making it a pioneering product in the medical and consumer space.
The UX design component was instrumental in ensuring the POGO Automatic® offered an intuitive and seamless user experience. Collaborating closely with industrial designers and user researchers, our UX team developed a straightforward interface that allowed for one-handed operation, easy navigation, and clear display of blood glucose results. This thoughtful design approach extended to the integration of the device with the Patterns® app, enabling effortless tracking and management of diabetes data, reinforcing the user-centric ethos at the heart of the POGO Automatic®'s design and functionality.
